The Studio Tour Project Using 360o panoramic photographs, our project observes the functionality of artists studio space. It also reveals the more intimate details of the artists personal space. Photography provides a means of gaining insight into art culture and the relationships reflected by that culture. Pictures-within-pictures to comment on, explain, and enrich the primary scene that unfolds in each image The project started in Taos, New Mexico where we photographed 45 artists (see the photographs here). During 2008 and 09, we are focusing on the artists and studio spaces of California (see the photographs here). Photographing, editing, printing and handcoloring a new chapter of our studio tour body of work, we are documenting both the mainstream and off-the-grid artists at work in their studios. Together, we will add insight to those artistic and alternative lifestyles, while maintaining admiration toward their work and talent through personal involvement.
