Plein Air Painter

At age 20, Tracy Turner Sheppard discovered the joy of plein-air painting while living in Aix-en-Provence, France as an art student. She traveled throughout the countryside of southern France and northern Italy painting in some of the favorite spots of Van Gogh, Cézanne, and the Fauve painters.

After studying at the Portland School of Art in Maine, she then received a full scholarship to the Minneapolis College of Art and Design where she graduated with a BFA. Now living in northern New Mexico, Turner Sheppard paints the landscape in brilliant colors, seeking to capture a beautiful presence within the elements of place, color and light
