Creates each piece through an intuitive process. Beginning only with indescript strokes, paintings are created as the paint and mixed media reveal their form to the artist. Through this process, LaGro's work taps into his subconscious and the end result shows the depth and mystery of life, past and present, legends, and future. Lagro's work has been described as a sort of "Baroque Mysticism" as it is recalls classical forms and subjects yet reworks the images in a very experimental and unorthodox way.

His studio is the historic Joseph. Sharp studio, built in 1915, off of Kit Carson Road in Taos, New Mexico
