"Sacred Grounds"  De Tierra Sagrado

A  series of photographs that evokes ancestral memories and explores relationships, emotions and their connection to the land. This work pays homage to those who walked before us - many views - ancient voices - images from our history - teach us the lessons of past lives. These pictures are valuable, in that they transport one to a place,  somewhere more familiar, a vague recollection of a location, somewhere in time, where the rules of "been there- done that" do not apply. The big, wide-open  mental realm of previous ideas, ideas about space, time,  and the origins of the land and the people who came before us. De Tierra Sagrado is a collection comprised of history, myths, legends, stories, beliefs and cultural meanings that gathered around the idea of a "frontier," of a place that is an edge between the known and the unknown, the settled and the wild and has a prominent place in history.
